Wednesday Twilight – Race 3

This week’s non-spinnaker Wednesday twilight saw a great fleet of 72 yachts converge on Rushcutters Bay startline with all teams eager to make the most of the 15-knot north-easterly breeze.

Some yachts, however, were unable to cap their anticipation with some being caught over the line at the start and having to return to restart. As entrants made their way around the harbour their progress slowed the further they went with breeze diminishing to 5 knots as they crossed the finish line.

Division A was topped by Any Kearnan’s KOA, followed by David Pescud’s’ SWD – Kayle and Richard Williams’ Calibre.

Division B was Kate McGregor’s Sea Change, second was Robert Skol’s Scarlett O’Hara with Ray Stone’s Razors Edge in third.

Division C saw Gary Buttery’s Atao in first, Authur Lane’s Wilde Rush in second and Rob & Sue Segaert’s Sante in third.

Division D first place was claimed by Les Katz’s Mammoth with Marcus Gillezeau’s Aurora II and Michael Kelly’s Pantomime IV in second and third respectively.
