Triton, Wild West, Legende and Zin Zin take divisional wins in Wednesday Twilight Series

Triton, Wild West, Legende and Zin Zin celebrated divisional wins on a night of champagne sailing in the Wednesday Twilight Series.

64 boats were on the start lines across the four divisions for a glamorous evening on Sydney Harbour, with the sun shining and an 11-13kt nor’easter.

David Gotze’s Lyons Cawse 60 Triton took the gun and handicap honours in Division A, just 12 seconds ahead of Jason King’s Farr 40 SOLyMAR on corrected time. Alan and Tom Quick’s Farr 40 Outlaw was third.

Wild West, Past Commodore Paul Billingham’s Bakewell White Z39, was first over the line and claimed handicap honours in Division B, from Hugh Murray-Walker’s J/111 Oscar3 and David Chesters’ Payne 38 It Happens.

Michael Earwaker’s Jeanneau DS43 Legende beat CYCA Vice Commodore Arthur Lane’s Beneteau Oceanis 51.1 Wilde Rush by seven seconds on corrected time to win Division C, while Arthur Psaltis’ Hanse 430E Into the Mystic rounded out the podium.

There were three fresh names on the Division D podium, with Tom Isbell’s Northshore 30 Zin Zin taking the win, ahead of Ken McKenzie’s Northshore 340 Morning Calm and John Roth’s Sunset 750 Papillon.

The placegetters in all three divisions take home some great prizes from Brix Distillers, including bottles of spiced rum, caps, t-shirts and more.

The divisional winners are also placed into a draw to win the grand prize of a tour and rum tasting session at Brix Distillery, as well as a 5LT barrel of Brix Barrel Aged Rum, with custom labels.
