Even with an afternoon full or dark skies, patches of rain and 23 knot gusts, by the time crews made their way down to their yachts and out on to Sydney Harbour conditions had moderated and settled to create what Principal Race Officer Steve Kidson described as, “a nice night on the harbour, straight forward racing with no incidents.”
All entrants in the Club Marine Twilight race completed the full course with racing taking place in 10-12 knots of wind from the south east with a few soft patches thrown in to keep the tacticians working.
Divisional winners for this week included, Matthew Donald’s Gweilo in PHS DivA, Vicki Hartley’s Sea Change in PHS DivB, Antony Sweetapple, Anthony Bruce and James Lee Warner’s Quetzalcoatl in PHS DivC and Raymond Schwartz’s Aquanimity in PHS DivD.
With only one week before the Summer Pointscore finishes and then three non-pointscore races conclude the season, scores for divisional placings are starting to settle. Divisional leaders include Warwick Sherman’s Snowdome Occasional Course Language in PHS DivA, Vicki Hartley’s Sea Change in PHS DivB, Gary McLeod’s Ocean Road in PHS DivC and Bruce Druery’s Liaison in PHS DivD.
