Scarlett Sun and Gun Runner claim their first wins of 2022/23 Sharp EIT Monday Twilight Series

There were two new names atop the divisional podiums in Race 13 of the 2022/23 Sharp EIT Monday Twilight Series, with Scarlett Sun and Gun Runner taking out the handicap wins.

Rob Skol’s Jeanneau Sun Fast 3300 Scarlett Sun was the last boat across the line in Division 1, but claimed top spot on corrected time.

It was a tight battle for the podium places, with Carla M (Mark Michalowsky) second and Enigma (James Manning) just five seconds further back in third.

Greg Mason’s Sine Wave was fifth, behind two casual entrants, taking a share of the overall pointscore lead alongside Darryl Hodgkinson’s Carkeek 40 Victoire.

There were seven IRC boats racing in Division 1, with Mitchell Gordon steering The Goat to victory ahead of Sine Wave and Victoire.

The Army Sailing Club’s Jarkan 925 Gun Runner, skippered by Murray Stewart, won Division 2 on handicap.

Superfine (George Waldthausen) was second, while Unreal (Philip Sewell) rounded out the podium.

Chris Warren’s Likalizard was fourth to move within nine points of Division 2 pointscore leader Papou Geli (Ross Karp).

There are three pointscore races remaining – on 20 February, 27 February and 6 March – before the series closes out with non-pointscore races on 13 and 20 March.

Entries are open until midday on the day of each race.
