Dear Associates and Sailing Associates Members,
Notice is hereby given that the Associate and Sailing Associate Members Annual General Meeting shall be held at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, 1 New Beach Road, Darling Point NSW on Monday 18 July 2022 at 6:30pm.
The Associates Committee is a voluntary Committee which has long been an integral part in the organisation of social events at CYCA. The Committee initiates, plans and hosts a range of Clubhouse events for the enjoyment of all Members and guests. The Committee also participates in fund raising activities for the benefit of the Club or a Club-preferred charity and assists with Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race activities. Additionally, the Associates Committee focuses on raising the profile of Associate Membership and increasing their numbers and participation in Club events, both sailing and social.
All Associate and Sailing Associate Members are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting. Nominations for the Associates Committee shall be made on the attached form and returned to reception. The Nomination Form is to be signed by the Nominator and the Nominee. The office of the Chief Executive shall produce a list of candidates for display on the official noticeboard at least seven (7) days prior to the Annual General Meeting.
If there are only 15 nominations or less, these Members will be automatically elected. If there are more than 15 nominations, then all Associate and Sailing Associate Members present at the Annual General Meeting shall be eligible to vote for those that they wish to be elected to the Committee. From those Committee members, the appointment of the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer shall be nominated and elected by those present.
We encourage you to attend the Associate and Sailing Associate Members Annual General Meeting and also to consider standing for the Committee. Associate Committee meetings are held on the first Monday of every month at 6.00pm and it is desirable that Members attend as many as possible of these meetings for the Committee to function effectively.
