Harry Price, Member of the Youth Sailing Academy since he was just 13 years old, has today been crowned number 1 in the open World Sailing Rankings – Match Racing. Harry has a long, winning history at the CYCA and abroad, including just last year becoming the World Youth Match Racing Champion along with his team of fellow YSA Members, Gus Williams and Tara Blanc-Ramos.
Harry, now racing with YSA Members Murray Jones and Matt Stenta as DownUnder Racing, has set his sights on the World Match Racing Tour (WMRT). The Team recently competed in the first event of the Tour, the GKSS Match Cup Sweden, placing a very respectable fourth in a fleet of fellow prominent World Sailing ranking members.
Governor’s Cup is next on the list for the busy schedule of DownUnder Racing, commencing on Monday 16 July at Balboa Yacht Club, California. “Gov Cup” is the oldest international youth match racing regatta in the world, recently celebrating its 50th anniversary, and as the Event is for sailors under 23, it’s been suggested that not many Gov Cups would’ve had a world number one team competing!
