Cole Tapper, George Richardson, Max Brennan, and Hamish Vass secured 5th place at the 2024 World Match Racing Tour – Bermuda Gold Cup. This event marked the third championship stage of the tour, hosted by the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club.
Competing in International One-Design class yachts, eight teams from five nations participated in the six-day competition. The opening day was challenging for Cole and his team, as they finished with a record of 1 win and 3 losses. However, they rebounded on the second day, winning 3 out of 4 races and climbing to third place overall by the end of the round-robin qualifying stage.

As they advanced to the quarter-finals, Tapper chose to face 2022 World Match Racing Champion Nick Egnot-Johnson from New Zealand. Unfortunately, the experienced Kiwi team proved too strong, and Cole’s team lost 3-0, ultimately finishing in 5th place.
Despite this outcome, the team has qualified for the World Match Racing Tour Final, which will take place from December 10-15 in China.
