It is with great sadness we report the passing of Member Maggie Wiltshire on 11 August 2020.

Maggie was an Associate Member and the long-time partner of Member James Dalrymple.

Maggie was a non-smoker who had bravely fought and survived a two year battle against lung cancer, only to be recently diagnosed with a fast-acting and aggressive secondary site.

For over 30 years Maggie and James were regularly seen lunching at the downstairs bar and deck or enjoying a glass of white wine in Coasters Retreat Members’ Bar.

Maggie had retired after a long career at the Prince of Wales hospital where she was a hospital scientist.

She loved to travel and enjoyed many overseas trips with James, especially to Europe and Hawaii. Maggie was looking forward to an upcoming trip to Europe when COVID-19 put a stop to her plans, whilst James was recently moved to a nursing home at Kirribilli close to his family.

Her happy disposition and smiling face will be sadly missed by friends at the CYCA and also the 18 Footers at Double Bay where she was well known and regularly frequented.

Next time you have a glass of white wine at the CYCA, think of Maggie.
