Congratulations to Ray Roberts and his crew on the 2012 JV72 Hollywood Down Under for their 3rd place in Class (ORR-1) and 4th Overall at the 2022 San Diego to Puerto Vallarta Race.
With a lapsed time of 3:11:57:26 over the 1,020NM course down to Mexico, corrected time placed her ahead of many heavy hitters in Class such as the LH winner Pyewacket 70, Artemis and Rio100. Two other local boats took first and second places in ORR-1: Bad Pak (Botin 56) and GoodEnergy (RP 63).
However, it was the ORR-2 Ker 51 Fast Exit II, that surprised many and beat out the first six of seven ORR-1 boats to claim Overall victory.
Five other Australians were on Hollywood Down Under as part of the international crew: James Dagge (Navigator), Nick Davis (Captain), Daniel Hawkins (Runners), Marcus Korobacz (Grinder) and Roni Ormandlaki (Alternate).
