Major Changes for 2024-25
The Club is excited to announce several significant changes to the CYCA Summer Program for the 2024-25 Season. Key updates for the ACSBWPS include:
- Category 3+: The Flinders Islet Race and Bird Island Race have been amended to Category 3+. These races are a great entry point into longer offshore racing, aiming to encourage new participants by lowering the barriers associated with Category 2 racing.
- Satellite Communications: Satellite phones will be the primary method of communication for all races. HF Radio will not be required for the Cabbage Tree Island Race or the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.
- Medical Kits: Australian Sailing has updated the medical kit requirements in the Special Regulations, allowing boats to choose between two different structures. More details are available in the AS Special Regulations here.
A summary of all major changes is attached and can be found at the same link as the Sailing Instructions above.
We look forward to welcoming you to the CYCA and seeing you on the water for another successful blue water season.
