The 2020 edition of Club Marine NSW Youth Match Racing Championship will finally get underway this weekend after the event was postponed in August last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With support from long-standing Partner Club Marine, the Club rescheduled the event for 13–14 February with seven teams from across Sydney competing.

Three teams will represent the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia with brothers Finn and Cole Tapper along with Jack Littlechild announced as skippers for the home Club. Two teams will be travelling from the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron and Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club.

Not only is it great to see so many up and coming sailing stars, enjoying being out in the elements and the camaraderie that comes with it, but as the next generation of boat owners, the skills learned today will put them in good stead on the water in the future.

The event, which usually is the season opener for the Australian youth match racing circuits, will in fact be the final event for the 2020/21 season, which featured only four events in Sydney.
