The CYCA hosted the second race of the 2024-25 Sydney Harbour Women’s Keelboat Series yesterday on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Racing got underway off Point Piper in a 9-11 knots NNE/NE breeze, shortly after low tide at 1158hrs.
The fleet was divided into two divisions with seven competitors in each.
Bridget Canham who skippered It Happens shared: “It was a perfect day for sailing on Sydney Harbour. The racing was very close, and we were constantly swapping the lead with Georgia Express and Jambo, which made it a lot of fun. Despite being a little short-handed with only five crew members, including myself, we still managed to cross the line first and secure second place on handicap. In short, it was a fantastic way to wrap up a weekend of sailing. “
Congratulations to all competitors for competing and especially to the place-getters.
The honours were shared across six competing clubs:
DIVISION 1
1st – Sirius (Kate Leeson). Adams 10 (MYC)
2nd – It Happens (Bridget Canham). Payne 38 (CYCA)
3rd – Artemis (Eve Saucier). Adams 10 (MHYC)
