Sharp EIT Monday Twilight Series – Race 15


Unfortunately, not every day out on the Harbour can be a sun-drenched summer’s day. After last week’s race was abandoned due to bad weather conditions, the fleet returned to their favorite racetrack on our beloved Harbour. The Sharp EIT Monday Twilight race unfolded under dark, gloomy skies with plenty of wind on offer.

Equipped with smaller jibs, kites, and possibly even a reef in the main, the 24 competitors across two Divisions lined up on the start line to vie for victory in what has jokingly been dubbed the “Monday Night World Championships”. With this race being the second-to-last contributing to the Pointscore, the turnout was impressive, and every yacht aimed to secure valuable points for the overall standings.

With a 20 to 25 knot breeze from the S/SE, victory seemed up for grabs for many, and by the end of the day, it appeared the larger boats hadn’t gained a significant advantage over the smaller ones.
