The Monica Geddes Memorial Trophy Harbour Islands Race is traditionally the Summer Season opening event, which will be held this Sunday 21 September.

All eligible yachts are invited to enter, and boats that have entered the Short Haul Pointscore will be automatically entered.  There are four divisions: IRC and PHS, Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker, with trophies for the top three in each division.

Entries will be accepted up to 1200hrs on Thursday 18 September, but the sailing office requests that entries be submitted as soon as possible.  Download the Entry Form & Sailing Instructions

Owners are reminded that entries for all 2008/9 Summer Series events are now open, and these include the Blue Water Pointscore series with the second race of the series – the Bird Island Race conducted on Friday 26 September, Ocean Pointscore starting with the Lion Island Race on 27 September, and Short Ocean pointscore from 4 October.

Twilight racing also starts in October with the St Arnou Wednesday twilight series commencing on 1 October, and the Mount Gay Monday Twilight Spinnaker series commencing October 13.

Full details are in the Summer Program (“white book”) which is now available from the Sailing Office and CYCA Reception, and has been mailed to those whose entries have already been received.

The Sailing Office requests that entries be submitted as soon as possible for all Summer Series races so that preparation of handicaps, divisions and so on can be completed.
