Richard Grubb (Honorary Life Member) has announced his retirement after more than 25 years unstinting service as CYCA’s official race starter.

Richard has been on the start and finish line for almost all CYCA races since 1983, driving MV Offshore and often staying overnight for the long races. Richard has been the leader of our wonderful teams of volunteer race officials.

The heartfelt thanks of the Flag Officers, Board, members and staff of the CYCA go to Richard at this time of his retirement. All of those who have taken part in the races over the years are specially grateful to Richard for his dedication to the Club and its on-water activities.

Richard was made an Honorary Life Member of the CYCA in 1997 in recognition of his then 16 year’s service, and we trust that he will continue to enjoy the Club and be a regular visitor to the members bar.
