On Monday 10 February , we waved goodbye to international visitors, Terry and Alicia from San Diego Yacht Club as they continue their incredible adventure, with Indonesia as their final destination.

Since purchasing Moonshadow, a Deerfoot 62, in 2020, the pair have embraced life on the water – covering over 20,000 nautical miles in just four years! Stocked with food, a water maker, diving gear and surfboards, they’ve explored New Zealand, Minerva, Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu and Australia, with plenty of offshore miles under their keel.

Beyond cruising, Alice and Terry boast an impressive racing pedigree. Terry for example sailed as the alternate trimmer for Dennis Conner in the 1994 and 1995 America’s Cup campaigns.

Next stop: Port Stephens, where Moonshadow will pause for a few months before the adventure continues north.
