Friday 22 March marks the final day of racing at the 2024 Etchells World Championships in Fremantle, Australia. Competitors hail from around Australia and the world, including our very own club here in Sydney.

CYCA’s Peter Merrington, Ian Mckillop, and Steve Jarvin sailing on board First Tracks have jumped up to 6th place after a drop. Thursday’s Race 7 saw the crew race their best race of the championships, taking the gun, and accelerating themselves into sixth overall, only 11 points behind the podium.

Members are also representing the CYCA across other yachts, including Richard Allanson leading the pack on board Magpie, Sean O’Rourke on Lisa Rose, Mark Roberts on Fumanchu2, and Jeanne-Claude Strong, Seve Jarvin and Sam Newton all on board Flying Higher.
