This October Long Weekend, (Friday 29 September – Monday 2 October), the Cruising Committee is organising a cruise south to Shell Cove – a new development just north of Kiama. It will be a cruise of approximately 50NM either way and will leave either Friday afternoon or in the early hours of Saturday.
The Cruising Committee of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) is offering an exciting long weekend escape along the Illawarra coast to Shellharbour. Here’s a summary of the plan:
– Start your cruise from one of Sydney’s famous waterways on either Thursday, September 28th, or Friday, September 29th.
– Sail south to Shellharbour and plan to arrive in the afternoon of September 30th.
– Stay at the new Shellharbour Marina.
– Enjoy a Saturday evening dining experience on October 1st.
– On Sunday, October 2nd, there’s an informative tour of the famous waterside development.
– Finally, on Sunday and Monday, you’ll sail back to Sydney Harbour.
Keep in mind that you’ll need to book a berth at Shellharbour Marina. Also, it’s essential for all vessels to comply with maritime requirements, which is the minimum requirement for coastal cruises.
However, please note that since this isn’t a formal CYCA Race or Regatta, the CYCA does not accept any liability.
This sounds like a fantastic opportunity for a coastal adventure along the Illawarra coast. Make sure to contact the CYCA for further details and to register for the event.
