The CYCA Cruising Committee is organising a get-together at Port Hacking over the October Long Weekend (1-3 October 2022).
Open to all Club Members, this is a great opportunity to get into cruising and learn a few tips or simply to enjoy a relaxing weekend with other Members. The Committee may be organising some meals at clubs in the area.
18NM south of Sydney, Port Hacking is an 11 square mile tidal estuary that offers cruisers a safe destination. The area offers extraordinary natural beauty and wildlife, bordered by the Royal National Park, has access to good amenities and is a fabulous waterway to explore. Jibbon Beach, the first meeting point, is a popular NW-facing beach with good anchorage as do the beaches of Northwest and Southwest Arms with high sides sheltering them.
The area can get a little difficult to navigate due to the shifting sandbanks – individual skippers will need to have the relevant charts for the area but we will endeavour to guide you and a recent map of the area will be distributed to all participants beforehand.
NOTE: An alternative cruise will be organised if conditions are not suitable for the journey to Port Hacking.
