Congratulations to CYCA Members Will Sargent, Otto Henry, Evie Haseldine and Brin Liddell, who have all been selected for Australian Sailing’s Performance Pathway Futures Program.

A group of 59 athletes and coaches was selected across the eight confirmed Olympic classes for the Paris 2024 Games.

Sargent has enjoyed some early success since joining the Youth Sailing Academy (YSA) in 2020.

He won the Club Marine NSW Youth Match Racing Championship earlier this year as bow for Finn Tapper, and continued on with that team to Perth, where they finished third in the City of Perth Regatta.

Whilst match racing and helming his own team is a priority for 2021, he continues to compete strongly in the Laser class, earning him a place on Australian Sailing’s Laser Std squad.

Henry, a 420 World Youth Championship silver medallist, will take part in the 49er Futures Program as he continues his impressive youth career.

YSA alumni Haseldine and Liddell have both been selected to the Nacra 17 program.
