CYCA boats Foreign Affair and Farrst Company claimed divisional wins in the opening race of the 2022/23 Combined Clubs Inshore Series.
Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron hosted the first of seven races on Saturday 10 September, with Royal Prince Edward Yacht Club, Middle Harbour Yacht Club, Manly Yacht Club and Royal Australian Naval Sailing Association also hosting races.
Foreign Affair (Matt and Lisa Wilkinson’s Farr 30) got the gun and the win on corrected time (PHS) in Division 2, beating Stormaway and Zig Zag 2.
Bertrand Philippe’s Jeanneau Sun Odysset 36 Hector was fourth, while One More No More (Ian Guanaria) and Ellipse (Graeme Dunlop) were seventh and eighth respectively.
On IRC in Division 2, Foreign Affair was first, One More No More was third and Ellipse was third. The three boats were second, third and fifth respectively on ORCi.
Farrst Company (Russell Dixon and Andrew van Heyst’s Farr 1020) claimed victory over the line and on handicap in Division 3, ahead of Wallop and Liquidity.
John Amos’ Sydney 38 Utopia finished third in Division 1, edging out Ultreya by just four seconds on corrected time. Utopia was second on ORCi in the division.
Mike Logan steered Thirlmere to seventh place.
Race 2 will be hosted by RPEYC on Saturday 15 October.
