Hanse 460 heads an impressive line-up at the Windcraft Cruising Expo 2024

The format which debuted last year offers a more relaxed and enjoyable viewing experience than a typical major boat show that inevitably involves crowds, queues and parking hassles.

The event at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia at Rushcutters Bay from 1-4 August will be the first chance for those who have been following the overseas release of Hanse’s big volume luxury family cruiser to see for themselves just why the 460’s design from French naval architects Berrett-Racoupeau has been attracting praise and accolades from the international boating press.

SAIL magazine included the Hanse 460 as one of its Top 10 Best Boats 2023 complimenting its combination of “quick, easy sailing with commodious living and cruising”. Picking up the European Yacht of the Year award in 2022 for the Best Family Cruiser the 460 won high marks for a “voluminous hull that still performs. It boasts appealing exterior aesthetics and gives the feel of a larger yacht/model.”

The 460 on display at the Expo is configured to be one of the most luxurious, comfortable and easy to sail cruising yachts in its size category. It is superbly set-up for weekends away or coastal passages to remote cruising grounds. This large volume three cabin, two-bathroom family cruiser boasts a long list of appointments such as a huge T-top that shields the entire cockpit from the elements, frameless windscreen, and several fridges in the spacious cockpit that is a focal point for al fresco dining and entertaining. An upgraded 80hp engine is quiet, powerful and efficient.

Dehler yachts meld the best aspects of performance sailing and the cruising lifestyle and the Dehler 46 combines svelte looks with a modern and luxurious interior providing a full range of cruising amenities and liveaboard comforts.

The Dehler 46 is offered in two or three cabin versions with the model available for viewing at the Expo a three-cabin model featuring a master suite in the bow with a centerline island berth and ensuite head with shower compartment.

A roomy guest cabin is to starboard just aft of the L-shaped galley. The port aft cabin can be either a double or a single with extra room for handy storage, and a great option for extended cruising.

At just over 14.3 metres the Italian built Solaris 47, will be the largest yacht at the Windcraft Cruising Expo. The 47’s semi-flush deck profile, superb construction quality and refined fit-out coupled with enviable performance have rightly drawn admirers right around the world.

We will have a highly optioned three cabin Solaris 47 with a carbon rig and dinghy garage capable of housing a 2.4 metre RIB available for inspection at the Expo.

Hanse’s entry level 315 model has been described as possessing many features of a bigger boat including ample headroom, combined with real sailing ability while easily handled solo, or the perfect cruiser for a young family or a couple.

The 315 on display will be a two- cabin version with a single head and a comprehensive list of extras including in-mast furling.

Of course, cruising our spectacular waterways isn’t limited to sailing craft and the Expo will host a stunning Fjord 41 XL. The distinctive open deck design with its gleaming ‘Royal Nights’ blue hull represents the next level in day-boating style, luxury and practical entertaining space.

Fjord 41 XL at the Expo is powered by a pair of Yanmar 370hp V8 sterndrives and capable of reaching 33 knots and features Scandinavian-influenced style, functional flat deck layout, big walk around decks and versatile relaxing alfresco day spaces.

The Windcraft Yachts team will be on hand for the four days of the Expo to discuss your sailing and boating interests whether they be new yachts from Hanse, Dehler, Moody, Solaris, Contest or Privilege; or the selection of brokerage yachts we currently have available for immediate delivery.
