The CYCA Clubhouse remains closed due to the Greater Sydney lockdown. While the Clubhouse is closed, however, Members are still permitted to sail and tend to their boats, provided they follow the COVID-19 rules.
Importantly, the Marina and car parks are open as well as Cafe 44 from 0800 to 1400hrs Thursday to Sunday for takeaway. Please note, only Members who live within the Woollahra LGA or within 5km of the Club are permitted to visit the CYCA.
Happily, for every full month your Clubhouse remains closed, we are crediting Members half of your monthly equivalent Membership subscription back to your House account which you can spend on food, drinks or merchandise anytime until 28 February 2022.
Visit the NSW Government website to view the rules and restrictions in your area, and please always remember to follow the latest advice from NSW Health.
Return to racing
The NSW Government’s roadmap for easing restrictions will allow those who are fully vaccinated to participate in community sport once NSW reaches the 80 per cent double dose target.
In line with the community sport guidelines, the CYCA intends to recommence racing once the 80 per cent milestone is reached.
While there is no fixed date for this just yet, the Club will closely monitor the NSW Government’s latest advice and provide further information for competitors as soon as possible.
Sailing during lockdown
Up to five fully vaccinated adults (aged 16+) can now go sailing under some restrictions.
Advice from the NSW Police Marine Area Command on Tuesday 28 September stated that “in areas subject to stay-at-home orders – including Greater Sydney and some regional areas – only five people are allowed on a recreational boat in the following circumstances”:
- All people aged 16+ are fully vaccinated
- There is room for one person per four square metres. Otherwise, the two-person rule applies (the two-person rule means a maximum of two people can go sailing together, or more if they are all members of the same household)
- You are not outside your LGA, or more than five kilometres from your home.
You must maintain social distancing while exercising.
If you do go sailing, please keep your distance from others around the Club and Marina.

Marina access
Any Member who resides within the Woollahra LGA or within 5km of the Club may visit the Marina if they have a reasonable excuse to do so. Reasonable excuses include:

- Take a vessel to a marina or boat shed for repairs or servicing
- Pick up vessel from a marina or boat shed after servicing
- Move a vessel between marinas or moorings for relocation purposes.
Non-urgent repairs and maintenance to your vessel is not a reasonable excuse.
Marina casual berthing is open to Members who may visit the Club as outlined above. To book, contact the Marina Team on 0418 733 933 or marina@cyca.com.au.
The Tender Service continues to operate for Members who may visit the Club from 0800hrs to 1600hrs each day. The Tender Service is restricted to one passenger per trip.
