Georgia Express wins 2022/23 Sydney Harbour Women’s Keelboat Series

Katie O’Mara steered Andrew Forbes’ Farr Mumm 36 Georgia Express to the Division 1 overall pointscore win in the 2022/23 Sydney Harbour Women’s Keelboat Series.

The series concluded with Race 6 on Sunday 26 March, hosted by Manly Yacht Club.

The final race wins of the series went to Lisa Callaghan and Stephen Teudt’s Sydney 38 Mondo (Division 1) and Plum Crazy (James Nixon).

Six CYCA boats featured in Division 1, with Nicole Sawick steering Mark Gorbatov and Mark Siebert’s Beneteau First 40 Blink to third place, while Georgia Express was sixth.

Georgie Psaltis was at the helm of Arthur Psaltis’ Hanse 430E Into the Mystic (9th), Stephanie Lyons steered Thirlmere (Daniel Belcher’s Sydney 38) to 12th, Bridget Canham was skipper of David Chesters and Craig Young’s Payne 38 It Happens (13th) and Dinah Eagle led the all-female crew on Commodore Arthur Lane’s Beneteau Oceanis 51.1 Wilde Rush (RET).

With four of the six races completed (Races 3 and 4 were abandoned), Georgia Express took top spot in Division 1 thanks to a win in Race 2 and second-place finishes in Races 1 and 5.

She was five points ahead of second-placed Agrovation (Marike Koppenol), while It Happens finished third overall.

Catherine Thornton-Rofe steered Kaotic to victory on countback in Division 2, thanks to a win in the final race.
