YSA | CentrePort International Youth Match Racing Championship

Youth Sailing Academy (YSA) Member Finn Tapper, along with fellow YSA crew George Richardson, Cole Tapper and Jake Liddell are set to contest the CentrePort International Youth Match Racing Championship title held in New Zealand this week. The annual Championship, held at Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club, New Zealand commences Wednesday 13 February and will see the top youth talent from the southern hemisphere go head-to-head in the classic trans-Tasman clash.

Teams from the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, and Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club will join a strong local contingent of two Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron teams and three from hosts Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club.

Tapper, who won the Championship in 2017, and took third last year, enters this competition second only in World Sailing Open Match Racing rankings to recent Hardy Cup champion Nick Egnot-Johnson, and is hungry to reclaim the title.

Results from the CentrePort International Youth Match Racing Championship will be published live on Match Racing Results (matchracingresults.com/2018/new-zealand-youth-nationals), with regular updates also posted to the YSA Facebook page.

Good luck to our YSA team!
