Trawler Traveller Part 2: Destination Greenland – CANCELLED

Due to the current COVID-19 situation the Trawler Traveller Part 2: Destination Greenland has been cancelled. Click here for more information.

The Cruising Committee is pleased to announce Past Commodore Hugo van Kretschmar will be back on April 7 for another presentation about his fascinating journey aboard the converted 60’ Tasmanian cray fishing boat ‘Ada Hardy’. Hugo and his wife Karen started from Sydney in 2008 and have since travelled more than 30,000nm meandering their way across the globe. In this presentation, we will join Karen and Hugo in Gibraltar in 2017 and follow their travels and adventures through to late 2019.  During this time, they cruised the Atlantic coasts of Spain, Portugal and France; through the canals of Holland; the fjords of Norway to well north of the Arctic Circle (including a mid-winter cruise!); and then across to the spectacular Faroe Islands, Iceland and finally the rarely visited and mostly ice-bound coast of East Greenland. If you are interested in exploring cruising destinations away from the more frequently travelled routes, this promises to be a presentation not to be missed.

When: 1830hrs Tuesday 7 April 2020

Where: Cruising Yacht Club of Australia – 1 New Beach Rd Darling Point
