Tasmania says welcome to ‘The Off Season’

Every December, Tasmania comes to life as the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race rolls into town.

We love cruising down the Derwent. We love the buzz around Constitution Dock. We love driving around the island and soaking in the summer scenery.

But there is plenty to love about Tassie year-round.

Our partners at Tourism Tasmania are celebrating the quirky nature of Tasmania during the winter, in their latest campaign ‘The Off Season’.

Why wait for December when you could head south for a trip in the colder months and enjoy some of the island’s great events.

Tasmanian Wine Festival (7-8 August)

Warm up with a glass of red by the fire at the Tasmanian Wine Festival. Hobart’s historic Goods Shed is transformed into a winter wonderland complete with fire pits, live entertainment and food that makes a perfect pairing with some of Tasmania’s finest drops.

Tasmanian Whisky Week (9-15 August)

Tasmanian distillers are known for their spirit of generosity and are offering up close and personal whisky experiences at various locations. Warm yourself up inside and out at venues from the bush to the beach, whisky bars and historic houses across Tasmania.

Great Eastern Wine Weekend (3-13 September)

Take a road trip and celebrate the region’s finest wine and fare, stretching along a coastline envied for its cool climate drops. Featuring events and experiences, make a week of it and include some mountain biking in St Helens or on a boat cruise at Bay of Fires.
