In celebration of this year’s 75th Anniversary Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, CYCA will stage the Sydney Hobart Classic Yacht Regatta on the weekend of 7 and 8 December. Yachts launched prior to 1976 which have started at least one Sydney Hobart are eligible to enter and we’re expecting another great turnout building on the success of the Great Veterans’ Race earlier in the year.
The Regatta will feature the enduring classics which raced in CYCA’s early years and will comprise one harbour race each on Saturday and Sunday, with the Sunday race will repeat the historic 1945 Sydney Hobart start off Cannae Point. Yachts will race in spinnaker and non-spinnaker divisions and a dinner for 150 competitors will be held in the Freya and Morna rooms on Saturday evening, with a prizegiving after the race on Sunday.
