An enthusiastic group of about 20 joined David Henry (Sweet Chariot), Denis Doyle (Ariki Tai) and Shaaron Walsh (Trim) from Cruising Committee in the Rani Room on Tuesday 18th February. Also in attendance were Kevin Whelan (Reve) and Basil Deithelm (Sumatra) to exchange their ideas and plans for cruising, sharing stories and photos of their circumnavigations, Pacific crossings & cruising to remote Australian destinations.
Topics of great interest were, of course, Noumea/New Caledonia as a cruising destination and the number and beauty of the many destinations available there.
Lord Howe Island BBQ held every November was a hot topic and discussed at length with photos.
The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club’s Moonen Yachts Sydney to Auckland Ocean Race held January 2021 which includes Cruising Rally Two-Handed and multihull divisions linking up with the America Cup challenge in Auckland February 2021 was also discussed.
SW Tasmania & S2H cruise to the Hobart Wooden Boaty Festival will be in its seventh edition in Jan-Feb 2021 – all agreed this is a must-do event.

Rani room was a great little venue for the meeting and the bistro specials were much enjoyed by all and the friendly service from the bar staff.
