It was a tricky and slow race for the 14 yachts who made their way out to the startline to battle the light to the non-existent wind that was forecast.
Matt Wilkinson from the Farr 30 Foreign Affair described the day as “painfully light”.
“We raced for about two and a half hours with only the TP52 Bush Paul Group in from of us but decided that life is too short! So we pulled the pin.”
From the 14 starters, there were only eight who stuck it out to complete the shortened course whilst the other six decided it was not to be and retired.
Division 1 saw Ian Short’s Bush Paul Group take out first in IRC, ORCi and PHS, Ian Box’s Toy Box 2 second in IRC and PHS, with David Walsh’s Gunshot third in PHS and Rober Cox’s Nine Dragons third in IRC.
Division 2 was led by Matthew Hanning’s Supernova in PHS, IRC and ORCi. Phil Herscovics’ Shine On second in PHS. J Stenning & C Gunn’s Stormaway second in IRC and third in PHS. Rounding out the leaderboard in IRC was S Rahilly & J Pelly’s Crosshaven.
