The final race of the series saw perfect conditions to close off the season with Race 13 being conducted by the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron.
With clear skies and warm temperatures present as crews headed out on to Sydney Harbour, everyone was looking forward to the prospect of a building north easterly. With the wind taking some time filter down through the harbour and a large ship entering through Sydney Heads, the Race Committee decided to postpone the start for a period of 25 minutes.
Once racing got underway crews were greeted by 10-12 knots and smooth seas as they made their way out of Sydney Heads and to a mark three and a half nautical miles east before returning to the harbour to end a another great season.
Divisional winners included Cam Wayland’s Hunky Dory in PHS and Michael Selby’s Cyrene 3 in Non-Spin IRC.
This weekend marks the final week of the series for both Short Haul and Short Ocean.
