Sharp EIT Monday Twilight Series returns

A nice little 8-11 knot sou’ easter greeted the 14 teams who took to the water for the first of the Sharp EIT Monday Twilight Series. The breeze, however, quickly shifted to the east and dropped to 5-8 knots providing a tactical racecourse for competitors.

Leslie Green’s Ginger was able to make the most of the light conditions, taking first place in Division 1. Greg Mason’s Sine Wave and Phil Tomkins’ Adrenalin rounded out the Div1 podium, taking home second and third place respectively.

Tony Booth’s Selkie was the champion of Division 2, closely followed by Geoff Bonus’ K8 and Kerry Lehman’s Black Diamond Bay – less than a minute separated the top three on corrected time!

This and next week are non-pointscore races for both the Monday spinnaker and Wednesday non-spinnaker twilights, with pointscore racing commencing Monday 21 and Wednesday 23 October.

Congratulations to podium placers and all competitors on Monday – we look forward to a wonderful season of Twilight racing ahead!
