The CYCA SOLAS Trusts supports the people, organisations and equipment that help keep sailors safe and bring them home. Through the generosity of the sailing community, the Trusts funds search and rescue organisations across Australia, supports safety-related initiatives, and assists families following the loss of a loved one at sea during sanctioned yacht races.
What We Do
The Trusts puts donations to work in three ways.
Support Families
Provide financial assistance for the immediate needs of families following the loss of a loved one at sea during an Australian Sailing-sanctioned race.
Equip Search & Rescue Organisations
Fund vital equipment and capital projects for search and rescue organisations around Australia, helping frontline volunteers and professionals respond when sailors and others are in distress at sea.
Fund Research & Training
Support initiatives that improve safety, rescue capability and knowledge within the Australian sailing and maritime community.
Our Impact
Since 1999, the Trust has distributed more than $1.2 million to search and rescue organisations across every state and territory — funding rescue vessels, communications equipment, safety gear and facilities for the crews who respond when sailors are in trouble.
