Good luck to CYCA Member Rupert Henry, who has set off in the CIC Normandy Channel Race – a 1000 nautical mile, two-handed race for Class 40s.
Rupert is racing his Lombard Class 40, Eora, with co-skipper Jack Bouttell (a winner of the Volvo Ocean Race 2017/18 with Dongfeng Race Team).
The Normandy Channel Race is the first of three major challenges Rupert is taking on across the world in 2022.
In July, he will compete in the 1000nm, single-handed Drheam Cup, which also sets off from France.
That will have him well prepared for the 3,600nm Route du Rhum – one of the world’s biggest single-handed races.
