Recipe inspiration – Christmas mulled wine

Makes 1 litre


  • 750ml Red wine
  • 5 Cinnamon sticks
  • 40g Ginger
  • 4 Cardamon pods
  • 1/2 Naval Orange, rind only
  • 220g White sugar
  • 1/2 Vanilla bean, scraped
  • 100ml vodka

To serve

  • 100g currants
  • 100g almonds, sliced


  1. Place wines, sugar, orange rind and all spices in a pot. Place on low heat and bring up to just under boiling point. Turn off heat, cover and let infuse until cool. Add vodka then strain.
  2. Store in airtight container or bottle
  3. Be sure not to boil when reheating to serve. Pour into cups and add almonds and currants prior to serving.
