Makes 1 litre
Ingredients
- 750ml Red wine
- 5 Cinnamon sticks
- 40g Ginger
- 4 Cardamon pods
- 1/2 Naval Orange, rind only
- 220g White sugar
- 1/2 Vanilla bean, scraped
- 100ml vodka
To serve
- 100g currants
- 100g almonds, sliced
Method
- Place wines, sugar, orange rind and all spices in a pot. Place on low heat and bring up to just under boiling point. Turn off heat, cover and let infuse until cool. Add vodka then strain.
- Store in airtight container or bottle
- Be sure not to boil when reheating to serve. Pour into cups and add almonds and currants prior to serving.
