Quiet Little Drink

This year’s Quiet Little Drink (QLD) was another great celebrations of the achievement of many sailors acrross experience levels. Sailors were recognised for reaching their milestone race count as well as Youth Sailing Academy (YSA) sailors who had competed in their first.

The QLD has been able to assist many young sailors in financially assisting them to undertake safety training which has allowed them to undertake and prepare for ocean races throughout the year and the most prominent race of the calendar, the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. This assistance would also not be possible without large discounts given to the QLD from training providers including Pacific Sailing School and Marine SafetyWorks.

This year saw YSA sailors Cam Gundy and Eric Sparkes recognised for undertaking their their first Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, with Michael Formosa, Sam Hunt, Iain Murray, Jim Nixon and John Whitfield being recognised for undertaking their 25th Race. The milestone 50th Sydney Hobart Race tally was this past year reached by both Bill Ratcliff and Colin Wildman.

Proceeds from the evening were raised to be donated to the Youth Sailing Academy.
