Olivia and Evie take bronze at Hempel World Cup Allianz Regatta

Congratulations to Olivia Price and Evie Haseldine (CYCA Members and YSA Alumni) on claiming a bronze medal in the 49erFX class at the Hempel World Cup Allianz Regatta.

In just their third international regatta together, Olivia and Evie made a great start in Almere, finishing on the podium in three of the first four races.

In a competitive fleet of 26 boats, the Olympic hopefuls performed consistently, placing inside the top 10 in all but one of their races to secure a place in the Medal Race.

Olivia and Evie finished just seven points behind the Dutch champions Odile van Aanholt and Annette Duetz, wrapping up the first international medal of their fledgling campaign.

“It’s really exciting to come away with a medal in this event,” Olivia said.

“Evie and I are pleased with how we were able to work together this week.

“The racing has been great, very tight out on the race course and we saw a range of conditions, which was exciting.”

Olivia and Evie will head into a training block, with the Australian Sailing Team back in competitive action at Kiel Week in Germany in late June.
