Offshore Doubles Association

As two-handed sailing becomes a staple in offshore sailing competitions and continues to grow, it is important to build a community to give it support and allow it to succeed.

With the CYCA introducing two-handed sailing to the schedule in 2019 and continuing to broaden its reach in 2020, the Offshore Doubles Association is a way for people who are looking to become involved in the discipline to join a community of like-minded sailors.

From the team at Offshore Doubles:

We launched offshoredoubles.org this past week and would love to have you take a look at the site. The group is for everyone interested in double-handing offshore including couples and friends doing weekend races to Olympic athletes and serious programs globally. We all have much to learn and teach and it’s our mission to bring this community together. There are more than 5,000 boats racing double handed under rating rules and many strong one design fleets around the world, so we know the interest is there. In one week we have signed up more than 600 members from 52 countries and 16% women sailors. Our goal is more than 1,000 members.

PLEASE JOIN US! The World Sailing meetings next week will determine if the Offshore Mixed Doubles Event will continue to be on the slate for Paris 2024 and to begin with we want to show the Olympic committee that Doubles has broad global support. So please join us (donation appreciated but optional) at  https://offshoredoubles.org and see some of your friends who are already there – and don’t forget to invite your co-skipper and share with others!
