With 20-25 knots forecast for the Monday Twilight spinnaker race, the stage was set for a fast-paced race around Sydney Harbour. With some heavy cloud and lower than expected temperatures in the afternoon, the forecast wind did not build to the expected levels but settled at 8-15 knots from the NNE which made for perfect racing conditions.
With the NNE direction, teams were sent from the start near Clark Island on a two-lap course to Nielson Park and Clark Island before returning to the finish in Rushcutters Bay.
The divisional winners for this week included Phil Tomkins’ Adrenalin in both PHS Div1 and IRC with Pacific Sailing School’s Starpac taking first place in PHS Div2.
