RANSA Regatta, the Royal Australian Navy Sailing Association’s (RANSA) annual flagship event was held Sunday 17 February, with CYCA Members showing winning class in six of the seven Divisions.
Congratulations to Members Les Goodridge’s Wax Lyrical, Daniel Foggo’s Sabre, Ray Stone’s Razors Edge, Peter Howes’ SeaRug Hoo Ha, Stephen Sweeney on Carats & Kilos, and Ron O’Connor’s Tallulah who won Divisions 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 respectively, as well of course to John Barclay’s Reverie for his win in Division 5 Classics.
Each year the RANSA Regatta is held in support of a nominated charity, with all proceeds from the 2019 event going to the Sir David Martin Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded in 1990 with the aim of safety, hope and opportunity for all young Australians.
The regatta upholds a strong relationship between our neighbour Clubs, with many Members from both blocks of the Rushcutters Bay foreshore regularly competing in races and series across our respective Sailing Programs.
