They’ve done it again – congratulations to the Magpie (AUS1486) team of Graeme Taylor, Ben Lamb and Master Lock Comanche’s James Mayo, for defending Magpie’s title at the 2025 Etchells World Championship at Royal Brighton Yacht Club, Port Phillip Bay, Victoria.
Successful match racing tactics saw the team finish ahead of DanEgerous (USA1473) on the final day of racing on Monday 14 January.

A round of applause to the CYCA crews, who came away with some outstanding results:
Flying Higher (AUS1518), Jeanne-Claude Strong, Seve Jarvin, Max Jameson and Sam Newton, was the first of the three CYCA boats at the regatta, in third place overall. Jeanne-Claude also claimed the prize for first female skipper.
First Tracks (AUS1485), Peter Merrington, Ian McKillop and William Parker, placed 10th overall. The crew were stoked after they placed first in the penultimate race of the regatta.
