Judy McMahon named 2021 Vaucluse Local Woman of the Year

Vaucluse MP and CYCA Member Gabrielle Upton has announced that Judy McMahon has been recognised as the 2021 Vaucluse Local Woman of the Year.

Judy is the widow of the late Michael McMahon, a much-loved CYCA Member for more than 13 years. Together, they began operating the iconic Catalina Rose Bay restaurant in 1994.

“On NSW Women’s Week and International Women’s Week, we celebrate outstanding women who are inspiring to our community,” Ms Upton said.

“It’s fantastic to award Judy McMahon at Catalina Rose Bay, as an acknowledgement of her longstanding service to our local community and beyond. Catalina is recognised internationally for its food, service and its stunning waterfront location.”

Vaucluse Local Woman of the Year Judy McMahon said: “I’m grateful to receive this award from Gabrielle and the NSW Government as part of NSW Women’s Week.

“We have so many inspiring women living in our local area so it’s a true honour to be chosen as this year’s recipient. I also enjoyed attending the 2021 NSW Women of the Year awards earlier this week. “

The NSW Government’s Women of the Year Awards recognises NSW women who have excelled in their chosen career, field or passion, and outstanding women who have contributed to their local community and whose accomplishments make them positive role models for other women and girls.
