How to properly dispose of your rubbish

CYCA has expanded its rubbish sorting capabilities as the Club strives for a cleaner playground and a more sustainable future. The Club needs your help to ensure rubbish is placed in the correct bin so it can then be recycled, upcycled or disposed of properly.

Bottles and cans (purple bin)

Our Marina is sporting these bright purple bins which all Members and Marina users are asked to use. The purple bins are for plastic or glass cans and bottles which are then recycled through the Government’s Return and Earn initiative. By taking just a couple of minutes to sort your recycling you can help us to further reduce our impact on the environment while also supporting the Club through the initiative’s refund program.

Recycling (yellow lid)

You’ll find recycling bins across the Marina and wider Club premises. Recycling bins are for paper, cardboard aluminium, steel and hard plastic such as empty milk bottles or cleaning product containers.

E-waste

E-waste is an ever-increasing environmental concern with an estimated 60 million tonnes to be produced globally in 2021. As part of our Sustainability Initiative, we are pleased to provide an e-waste recycling bin, located next to the mark shed in the large car park (adjacent the motorcycle parking). Please feel free to place your e-waste in this bin and help us become more sustainable!

Waste oil

CYCA provides a waste oil depository which is located next to the E-waste bin. Please contact our Marina Team via email or 8292 7807 if you would like to use the waste oil bin.

General (red lid)

The general bin with the red lid is for anything else you have remaining (which hopefully isn’t too much!).

Thank you once again for helping us become a more sustainable Club!
