This week, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia will host the 2023 World Sailing Youth Match Racing World Championship, becoming the first Australian Club to do so. 

Twelve teams, representing nine nations will via to become Youth Match Racing World Champion.

Racing will begin on Monday 11 December at 1200hrs off Clark Island, with a qualifying round robin scheduled over the first two days. The winner of this stage will be awarded the Gerard Bosse Memorial Trophy on Tuesday afternoon.

After qualifying, the Top Four teams will move directly to the Quarter Finals, leaving the remaining eight teams to sail a repechage round to determine the remaining four Quarter Finalists. The repechage is scheduled for Wednesday 13 December. 

Over Thursday and Friday, the knockout stages will commence, with a first-to-three point Quarter Finals, followed by the Semi Finals and Finals on Friday. 

All racing is scheduled to take place on Race Area A, off Clark Island between 1200 – 1700hrs throughout the week.

Photo galleries and press releases will be published each evening following racing via the CYCA’s social media channels and website, with daily highlight videos published each morning of racing at 1000hrs.

On Thursday 14 & Friday 15 December, SailMedia, Australia’s leading marine event coverage specialists will capture all the action from the knockout stages and Finals.
