Who would have thought someone could make the important topic of electrolysis on boats interesting? Jess Gatt, Managing Director of Logix certainly did just that at the recent Electrolysis Information Evening!

The various things Jess and her team covered included:

• Proper anode selection
• The importance of having proper bonding on your yacht
• What the different signs of corrosion indicate
• The need to monitor your hull fittings every 3-6 months
• The importance of having a galvanic isolator (or galvanic transformer) installed on your yacht
• Why you should never put your electrical lead through your stanchons nor wind it around anything metallic
• The importance of regularly checking your lead and plug and ensuring it is the right amperature

Logix are sending the Club a list of what you should check annually which we will share with Members.

The Club has also asked them to consider a special members price for an annual health check on Members’ yachts.
