CYCA-based yachts, Like Oxygen, Hector and Ellipse, have achieved impressive results in the 2024/25 Sydney Harbour Combined Clubs Inshore and RSYS’s Main (Spring & Summer) Series.
Comprised of nine races from September to March, the Combined Clubs Inshore series was hosted by Sydney Harbour clubs RPEYC, RSYS, MHYC, RANSA and VYC. The final race took place on Saturday March 15.

Andrew York’s Reo 850 Like Oxygen placed first on PHS Overall in Division 1, one-point clear of Charles Curran’s Sydney 60 Sydney.
In Division 2, Graeme Dunlop’s Northshore 369 Ellipse placed third on PHS.
And in Division 3, Bertrand Philippe’s Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 36 Hector claimed victory on the leaderboard on PHS Overall, just one-point in front of James Dunstan’s Currawong Zeus II.
Hector boasts a diverse French-Australian crew, featuring an equal number of male and female members.

The crew on board Hector are obviously doing something right. With one race to go on Saturday March 29, the yacht is first in Division 2 on PHS in RSYS’s Main (Spring & Summer) Series. It has a four-point lead over Julie Clarke’s Dufour 40e Arcturus 3.

Several other yachts bore the CYCA insignia: Michael Liang’s Sydney 38 Kaizen, Kym Evans’ Seaquest RP36 Whistling Kite and Stuart Muirhead’s Beneteau First 35 Silver Lining. Congratulations to those who represented the CYCA in these series.
