CYCA on display in Double Bay

The CYCA today opened a boutique curation of memorabilia on the Club’s ‘Past. Present. Future.’ at the Woollahra Library, Double Bay.

Located on the third level of the impressive facility on New South Head Road, the Club has taken over three plinths in the Library’s Heritage section, along with displaying some of the burgees which were previously on display in the temporary Clubhouse. These displays are dedicated to the Club’s rich heritage including the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, and the extraordinary efforts and success of our Youth Sailing Academy in its 25th year and its graduates. Over the next few weeks the memorabilia will be rotated, rather than have the items not currently on display in our own Clubhouse stored away.

In addition to the three displays and burgees, the Club’s ‘Past. Present. Future.’ can be viewed on the Library’s screens, with footage covering everything from the history of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race to the recent success and triumphs of our YSA. The display culminates in a talk on 6 December by the Club’s CEO Karen Grega and principal of Pacific Sailing School, Terry Wise, on a behind-the-scenes look at the off-water staging the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and the on-water training required.

The CYCA display is now showing at the Woollahra Library, 451 New South Head Rd Double Bay.
