This year’s CYCA match cup saw eight teams from the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia and Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club contest the annual regatta.
The morning saw a slow start to the day with thick fog and light westerly breeze that hindered the forecast north easterly breeze. After a short postponement the teams relished in a beautiful Sydney winters day with the building north easterly breeze filling in around midday.
The 2019 Australian Youth Match World Championship representatives and CYCA Members Tom Grimes, James Hodgson, Jess Grimes and Harry Hall came away taking first place with a perfect scorecard of seven wins. Following them was CYCA Development Match Racing Team of Cole Tapper, Tyler Creevey, Evie Haseldine, Hugo Leeming and Mark Murray on six wins and one loss. Third was George Richardson, Louis Schofield, Jake Liddell, Riley Evans and Aimee Gallaway.
