Rotary International President Mark Maloney and wife Gay were hosted by CYCA Monday 23 September to acknowledge our Club’s 23-year relationship with the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove and the Rotary SOLAS Charity Regatta.
Also attending were fellow dignitaries Rotary Foundation Director Raffy Garcia III and wife Minda from the Philippines.
Commodore Paul Billingham welcomed Mark Maloney & Gay and Raffy Garcia III & Minda, along with members of Rotary Club of Sydney Cove including President John King OAM. In recognition of our two Clubs’ long-standing partnership, John King presented Paul Billingham a plaque celebrating the 25 years of the regatta.
Over that time the Rotary SOLAS Charity Regatta has raised around $5 million for charity including the Sydney Children’s Hospital, SOLAS Trusts and other Rotary Club of Sydney Cove beneficiaries.
Also attending, representing CYCA and SOLAS, were Past Commodores David Kellett AM and Matt Allen AM.
After lunch in Café 44, Matt Allen hosted several the party on a short harbour cruise.

Only eight Fridays to go until the 25th Anniversary Rotary SOLAS Charity Regatta, Friday 15 November!
A big thank you to the 26 yacht owners who entered by 31 August – you will be eligible for the early registration prize of a week’s holiday for two at the luxury Musket Cove Resort, Fiji. The draw will take place at the skippers’ briefing on the deck prior to the race on Regatta day.
