The Club is represented by 49erFX sailor Evie Haseldine at the European Championships in Vilamora, Portugal this week. Australian Sailing Stars in the 49erFX, 49er, and Nacra17 classes have all arrived at the Championships, which doubles as the Olympic Qualifier for European nations.

YSA alumn Haseldine and skipper, fellow YSA alumn Olivia Price, earned Australia’s place at the Paris 2024 Olympics in the 49erFX class through their Bronze medal at the Allianz World Championships in the Netherlands this past August.

After the Championships, Price underwent knee surgery and will not be competing at the European Championship. Following Australian Sailing Team’s squad based approach, Haseldine will be competing with Australian Sail GP strategist Tash Bryant to maximise every opportunity to acquire as much international competition experience as possible.

Price is recovering well and will return to competing with Haseldine after the European Championship.
